Disney Hollywood Studios

Hi you guys!

Long time no post! Sorry we are still trying to get in the routine with finding out a schedule and trying to balance it with life because for the past couple of weeks we have been so busy. Right now we are in Florida so we are going to have a lot of great content for you guys! This time we drove to Florida, which was and adventure within itself.

This has been my second time in Florida and every single time something magical happens in Florida, specifically Disney. I had no idea that we were going to Disney! Every time I told someone that I was going to Florida on vacation they would ask if I was going to Disney and I would tell them I was just going to go to Sarasota. The reason why people asked me that is because Ryan and I love Disney. We recently went to Magic Kingdom in October, so I was ok with not going this time. During our road trip to Florida we stopped at a rest stop and Ryan asked me if I could help him get a couple of things out of his luggage and that is when I saw a shirt with Mickey on it and at that moment I knew that we were going to Disney! You know those commercials where the kids find out that they are going to Disney World and they start screaming and running around, yeah that was me! I was running around in the parking lot with tears running down my face because I couldn’t believe it.

This time we ended up going to Hollywood Studios. Ryan got me two shirts, one with Mickey Mouse in his sorcerer’s hat and a Pizza Planet shirt. I couldn’t decide on which one I wanted to take so I took both. The first thing we did when we got there was go to Toy Story Land! We felt like we were in Andy’s backyard! The time for Slinky Dog Dash was over 120 minutes so we went on Toy Story Mania, while we were in line waiting I was able to get fast passes for the Slinky Dog Dash (literally did the impossible because fast passes for that ride are so hard to get.)

What we wore:

Ry wanted to add a touch of Disney to his outfit with Buzz Lightyear sock. He also wanted to keep it comfortable because it was very hot yesterday so he wore a navy crewneck.

Ryan surprised me a bought me shirts for Disney Hollywood Studios, I paired that with my denim skirt with pearl details. Also wore the Beso by Stila on my lips for that pop of color.

We also had fun trying on all the hats and ears in the gift shops. Don’t worry we saved ourselves the embarrassment and did not buy them.

What we ate:

We had breakfast at Woody’s Lunchbox my favorite breakfast item was by far the Breakfast Bowl.

For Dinner we ate at the Sci-Fi Dine-In which was such a cute and different experience you got to sit in a table booth that was shaped like a car!

Our recommendations from Sci-Fi are the Orbiting Oreos it’s a cookies and cream shake with a glowcube. The Buffalo Chicken Salad was one of the best salads I have ever had. Bonus: the cast member saw Ryan and I wear our “happily ever after” pins and brought us a vanilla cupcake which was shaped like a hidden mickey.

Last but not least I ended the night with Starbucks! I am currently crying though because I forgot to buy a Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwich! Oh well I guess this gives Ryan another reason to take me back.

Our favorite rides:

Slinky Dog Dash Roller Coaster is our top recommendation! Try to get fast passes if you can because the line was so long yesterday. We kept on checking wait times but they didn’t get shorter than 120 minutes!

Our other two favorites: Hollywood Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roll Roller Coaster!

Favorite characters to meet:

We obviously love the classics.

Who won Toy Story Mania:

We wanted to end the night with the first ride that we started! We went back to Toy Story Land. Definitely go at night because it’s a different experience that you get during the day when the sun is out.

More importantly the answer that you guys have all been waiting for! I beat Ryan in Toy Story Mania! Just kidding I wish! He beat me, almost got twice as many points as I did! That’s ok because I will win next time!

We cant wait for you guys to see what else we have planned out for our Florida trip!

Last Minute Valentine’s Date Ideas

We are a couple of days away from Valentine’s Day! Which means it’s crunch time, to plan out that perfect Valentine’s date. Myriam and I have become experts when it comes to last minute planning! Actually not really, a couple of years ago on our first Valentine’s Day we were so busy with planning and working on a photo shoot that we ended up going to Chipotle for dinner. You luckily still have time to plan out the best Valentine’s date, here are 7 amazing ideas.

  • A wine and painting class. Have fun and get creative and if you aren’t a Picasso that’s ok! You’ll get to bring out your creative side all while enjoying a glass of wine.
  • Ladies, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach! So why not take a cooking class with him? You’ll see who the chef is in the relationship and who just likes to eat. Myr and I have always talked about taking a sushi making class simply because it’s something new and we both love sushi.
  • Couples massage, this is probably one of the best things you can do in a relationship! Just relax and unwind with school, work, and life there are not that many situations where you can do something that is stress free and actually relaxes you. You guys will leave feeling energized and ready to take on the world like the power couple that you are.
  • Have a flight, by this we mean go to a brewery and have a flight of beer. Since Valentine’s Day falls on a Thursday this year after the two of you get out from work or class go to a brewery. Leave the phone in the car and have a conversation all while enjoying some beer.
  • Go on a real flight, now this idea is pretty up there….but if your adventurous enough, go on a real helicopter ride. If you’re from Chicago the views of the skyline will look amazing, this is definitely top on our bucket list.
  • I am a Pisces and Myriam thinks that she is a real mermaid (not kidding she really thinks she’s a mermaid.) With that being said we have to recommend going to the aquarium on Valentine’s Day. One of our most memorable dates was at the aquarium we spent the whole day looking at dolphins, fish, and penguins. I also got to hear Myriam singing songs from the The Little Mermaid the whole entire day. One of my favorite photos that I have taken with Myr was from our aquarium date.
  • Go to Chipotle, no we did not run out of ideas, and no we are not sponsored. Like I said earlier in this post the first Valentine’s Day I spent with Myriam was at Chipotle. I realized it didn’t matter that we weren’t at a fancy restaurant all that mattered was that I was spending Valentine’s Day with the girl that I love the most. Valentine’s Day is about who you spend it with, not how much you spend on that person.

This year we celebrated Valentine’s Day a little early! We went to Disney on Ice and it wasn’t as good as going to Disney World but it was the second best thing. Here are some of our favorite moments from that night.

We wore matching Lady and the Tramp shirts from Box Lunch.

We hope you guys enjoyed our ideas and have an amazing Valentine’s Day!

14 Perfect Gift Ideas for Valentine’s Day

When it comes to gift giving Ryan and I are total opposites. Ryan likes to pretend like he’s not listening, but yet he manages to get me exactly what I want. Whereas, I am awful at keeping surprises and Ryan always gets his gift before because I couldn’t help myself and HAD to show him. I am even worse on Valentine’s Day because it is my favorite holiday, I can never wait to give Ryan his present. Since Valentine’s Day is in a little over a week, we have come up with the perfect gift guide, for what to get him and her.

For Him

1 . Tickets to a basketball game

Whether you guys cheer for the same team or are rivals, you can never go wrong with giving him tickets to a basketball game or to his favorite sports team.

2. Jack Black Skincare

A couple of years I got Ryan hooked on this brand! His top recommendations are the Intense Therapy Lip Balm  and the Pure Clean Daily Facial Cleanser. There are also a lot of great starter kits and gifts sets from this brand!

3. Gas Gift Card

Perfect gift card because he’s always driving you crazy.

4. Cologne

Myr got me this cologne last year and it became one of my favorites. During my clinicals I would spray it every morning so I would smell good and have a piece of Myr with me throughout the day.

5. Ties

“Mr. Grey will see you now.” You can never go wrong with a tie they are classic yet very sophisticated.

For Her

1 . Fenty Gloss Bomb

I call Myr fussy when she is acting up. I thought this lip gloss is a match made in heaven for her. If you like the smell of Juicy Fruit gum then you will love this on your girl’s lips.

2. Alex and Ani Bracelet

Warning collecting these are addicting! I got one when the Cubs won the World Series and when Ryan and I went to Disney World he got me two and I couldn’t leave without buying another one. Whether it’s a Disney Alex and Ani bracelet or a regular Alex and Ani bracelet you can’t go wrong the options are endless.

3. Lush Bath Bombs

I am a sucker for all the Valentine’s Day themed bath bombs that Lush has! This eggplant one is probably my favorite! Get her one, or two, or hundreds of bath bombs from Lush.

4. Rose Bear

This gift is definitely one of those Instagram hyped gifts. Whether you get her roses in the shape of a bear or just a bouquet of roses she’ll love them regardless! I just personally think the bear is the cutest thing ever!

5. Workout Clothes

Comfortable and stylish for her! Plus you’ll love the way her booty looks in these leggings. It’s a win-win situation.

For Him and Her

1 . A Star Map

Like we said earlier in this post I am super bad when it comes to keeping a surprise! This year I got Ry a star map for the office. Etsy has so many options of them.

2. A Date Night

We saved the best for last, a date night. Nothing compares to making memories with your other half! Next blog post we will share some of the best places to go to on Valentine’s Day! Also stay tuned for our Valentine’s Vlog.

What are you getting your other half?

Welcome!

Hi you guys! Thank you so much for visiting Him Styled by Her! This has been a project in the making for quite some time now! Let’s start from the beginning, a couple of years ago I met Ryan at a party and not trying to be cliché or anything but it really was love at first sight (Ryan just didn’t know it at the time.) My name is Myriam and well that night I asked Ryan if we could take a picture together, best pickup line I have ever used. Well long story short that picture that we took led to us talking for hours on top of hours each day. On our very first date I joked around about how he would be the perfect Instagram boyfriend and that’s when we talked about our love for travel and photography came into play. At that time I was working on a few projects with companies and Ryan helped me so much with picking out outfits, content, even taking some of my pictures. I took a break from my blog and when I decided to get back into it the game I realized that my old blog Myr Meets World wasn’t me anymore. A lot has changed from the 18 year old Myriam and I wanted a new blog to reflect that.

The reason why we chose the name Him Styled by Her is honestly because it came to me in a dream and when I was talking to Ry about it he fell in love with the name as much as I did. We have talked about starting a YouTube Channel for years now and well the more we talked about it a blog seemed better suited for us. We agreed that this would be a fun place to post about our adventures and incorporate a lot of our day to day routine (such as fitness, fashion, and relationship advice.)

We can’t wait to show you guys everything that we have planned! Our goal is to inspire people to live their best life with the people they care most about. Hope you guys enjoy the content and we look forward to bringing you guys along through all the adventures!

PS

Now that you guys heard Myr’s side of the story it’s my turn! Hey I am Ryan and the real reason why I didn’t notice Myr at first was because technically, she wasn’t there when I arrived she got there later on that night. I do remember hanging around at the kitchen (because it was a house party) and this random girl with a sparkle to her comes up to me and says “let’s take a picture!” I had no idea who she was, or who I was talking to, not knowing she was a blogger and amazing with pictures. I assumed we were going to take a picture with her iPhone but next thing I notice is she pulls out a professional camera with a lens and all. Let’s just say that wasn’t the only time she took me by surprise. After that night I really wanted to get to know her, and that turned into hour long conversations on the phone, and texting her nonstop throughout the day. She’s been in my life ever since that night and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I am excited for this blog because ever since that picture it’s been a nonstop adventure with Myriam and now you guys get to see the fun along the way.

*In case you guys were wondering what our first picture looked like*
